Now Offering InBody Scans!

InBody Scans are HERE!

We are stoked to annouce we are now offering InBody scans at CrossFit Port Clinton!

An InBody scan is a non-invasive body composition analysis that measures muscle, fat, and water levels to provide a detailed picture of your physical health.

Overview

An InBody scan goes beyond a standard scale by analyzing your body composition rather than just your weight. It provides precise measurements of muscle mass, body fat percentage, visceral fat, and total body water, along with a segmental breakdown for each limb and the trunk, helping identify imbalances and track changes over time. This makes it useful for athletes, individuals on weight loss or muscle gain programs, and anyone interested in monitoring their health.

How It Works

The scan uses bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA), a safe and painless method that sends a low-level electrical current through the body. Because muscle contains more water and conducts electricity well, while fat resists the current, the device can calculate the precise amounts of muscle, fat, and water. During the scan, you stand on footplates and hold handgrips with electrodes, remaining still for 30–60 seconds while the machine collects data.

What Information It Provides

An InBody scan delivers a comprehensive report including:

Skeletal Muscle Mass (SMM): Active tissue essential for strength, mobility, and metabolism.

Body Fat Mass and Percentage: Total fat and its distribution, including visceral fat around organs, which is linked to health risks.

Total Body Water: Hydration levels and water distribution.

Segmental Analysis: Muscle and fat composition in each limb and the torso, highlighting asymmetries.

This data allows for personalized fitness or health plans, tracking progress over time, and identifying areas for improvement beyond simple weight changes.
