I Don't Have Time to Work Out. Neither Do You. Here's What I Actually Do About It.

I own a gym, I'm raising kids, and most days I feel like I'm running from one thing to the next without a real break. So when someone tells me they don't have time to work out, I don't roll my eyes. I get it. I live it. For years I tried to find an hour and a half for the "perfect" workout, on top of an already full day.

That never lasted.

What changed things was deciding to show up for the hour I actually had, three times a week, no matter how the rest of the day was going. Here's the distinction that made it stick: I stopped trying to find time and started protecting it.

Finding time means waiting for a gap in your schedule that never actually shows up. Protecting time means deciding, ahead of time, that this hour matters as much as anything else on your calendar.

For me, that's three one hour blocks a week, total, treated as non negotiable the same way I'd treat a client meeting.

The other piece is that I don't rely on willpower to make it happen. Between running CrossFit Port Clinton and raising my kids, I don't have a lot of willpower left over by the end of most days. If my fitness depended on talking myself into it every single time, it would have fallen apart years ago. What actually keeps me consistent is a system. A set schedule, coaches who notice if I miss, and a community that expects to see me.

I don't have to think about programming or plan my own workout on top of everything else. I show up, and the coaching and the community carry me the rest of the way. This is exactly what we built at CrossFit Port Clinton, especially for people juggling a full time job, a business, or a family.

One hour, programmed for you, coached for you. You don't need more time and you don't need more willpower.

You need a protected hour and a system that meets you there.

If you're a parent or you run a business and you've written yourself off because you're "too busy," I'd push back on that.

Come try it.
