A month ago we carried the last box through the door on East 2nd Street and wondered what it would feel like to actually live here.
Now we know. It feels like exhaling.
For five years we made every square foot work. We loved that old building and we would do it all again. But we also spent a lot of time moving things, squeezing people in, and wishing we had just a little more space to do this the way we always imagined. This month, we finally got to.
The hardest part of walking into a gym for the first time is feeling like you're in the way. That is exactly what we wanted to fix.
No Sweat Intros now have space to breathe. Someone walks in nervous, and instead of being tucked into the corner of a busy class, they get a coach's full attention, room to move, and a place to ask the questions they've been afraid to ask out loud. First impressions matter, and this building lets us make a good one every time.
Our on ramp used to share the floor with everything else. Now beginners have room to learn the movements at their own pace, with equipment set up and ready, without feeling like the whole gym is watching. Confidence builds faster when nobody is rushing you, and we are already seeing it.
Personal training works best when a coach can give one person everything they've got. With more room, our trainers can do exactly that. Clients get focused, thoughtful coaching, and the space to move well and build real strength at their own level.
We'll be honest, we're a little giddy about this part. More room to spread out. A layout built around how we actually coach. Equipment that finally has a proper home. Small things that make every class run smoother, and big things that make the whole place feel like it was made for this.
And the kids still do their homework while mom or dad finishes a workout. They just have a lot more room to spread out now.
Same coaches. Same people. Same no-ego, show-up-as-you-are atmosphere that made this place ours in the first place. The walls are new, but the heart of it is exactly the same.
Thank you to every member who helped us move, hauled boxes, painted, or just showed up for the first class and made it feel like home. You turned a building into CrossFit Port Clinton again in about a week.
If you've been thinking about starting, or know someone who has, now is a great time. Book a free No Sweat Intro at crossfitportclinton.com and come see it for yourself.
See you on Gill Road.
With gratitude,
