Muscle Changed My Body More Than Any Diet Ever Did

For years I thought the goal was to be smaller. Eat less, move more, watch the scale. It worked for a little while and then it didn't, because I wasn't building anything. I was just shrinking, and shrinking doesn't last.

What actually changed my body was strength training. Lifting heavy things, consistently, over time. Muscle changed how my clothes fit, how I felt walking into a room, and how much energy I had to keep up with my kids and my business.

This is the piece most fat loss advice leaves out. Muscle is what keeps your metabolism working for you instead of against you. It's what makes "toned" actually happen, and it's the difference between a body that just looks smaller and one that looks and feels genuinely different.

It's also the hardest thing to build without a program and people around you who know what they're doing, which is why so many people skip it and end up back where they started.

At CrossFit Port Clinton, strength is built into every single class.

You don't need to know what you're doing or design your own program. You need to show up and let the programming do its job, week after week, while your coaches track your progress and adjust as you get stronger.

If your past attempts at losing fat left you smaller but not actually stronger or more energized, that's not a sign you failed.

It's a sign the plan was missing muscle.
